    About the project

    We are delighted to share that ODOM, a mixed-use high rise project that will be located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, has achieved LEED® precertification Gold under LEED v4 BD+C: Core and Shell. ODOM achieved this milestone thanks to the project’s focus on people, as well as its unique sustainable design features, which will provide an interactive space for both local businesses and the community to thrive.

    Through LEED certification, BEE is working closely with Urban Living Solutions to help them achieve some remarkable sustainable features for this impressive 101,000 m2 mixed-use development project, such as:

    1. Targeted energy reduction of around 15-20%when compared to baseline values
    2. Bicycle parking facilities, reserved parking, and charging space for Green Vehicles are provided to encourage the use of low emitting vehicles with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to fight global warming.
    3. Site assessment to understand soil, hydrology, and vegetation conditions at the site to take advantage of the site’s natural conditions and avoid causing any negative effects on the site and surrounding areas.
    4. Collection of rainwater used for passive cooling, toilet discharge tanks, irrigation of the variety of native plants, trees, and shrubs planted on the project site, and roof gardens.
    5. Low flow water fixtures are used to reduce the consumption of water.
    6. The envelope and façade are optimized to allow maximum natural light and airflow into the buildings, providing a comfortable and healthy living and working place.
    7. The artificial lighting for the whole building is provided by Energy Efficient LED Lamps. The performance of these lights is further enhanced by integrating them with daylight and occupancy sensors. In addition, multilevel controls of lights to adjust illumination are provided to the occupants to maximize their thermal comfort.
    8. The refrigerants used for space cooling are “non-CFC low environmental impact” refrigerants.
    9. Waste generated during the construction and operation is to be collected separately and sold to a waste processing facility that recycles almost all these wastes, thereby reducing the amount of waste that would end up in a landfill.
    10. ODOM’s core focus on community will also reflect on the most tangible elements of the project, with the application of low-emitting, natural or green materials during its construction and operation phases.

    This is Urban Living Solutions’ largest project to date and aims not only to help the community around the project but also to inspire others to embark on the path of sustainability that is becoming increasingly important, especially after COVID-19.
