Salary : AUD 130,000
We are looking for a talented and experienced Design and Project Director to join our team. The role is primarily focused on project work specific to the design of sustainable interior spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of interior design principles and practices, as well as the ability to plan, design, detail, and supervise the construction of commercial, industrial, and retail building interiors with the over-arching objective of implementing sustainable, green building solutions. The candidate will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to meet deadlines and work within a budget.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with clients to understand their design objectives and develop sustainable interior design, construction and operations strategies and solutions.
- Negotiate design solutions with clients, suppliers and contractors
- Leveraging our materials database, recommend and integrate sustainable building materials appropriate to the clients design objectives
- Project management to deliver green building projects, adhering to international green building standards (Green Star, LEED, WELL, TRUE Zero Waste, RESET Materials, etc.); coordinating with clients, management, suppliers, and general contractors.
- Coordinate and prepare project submission documents to relevant standards bodies.
- Assist clients with the integration and implementation of the BEE Sense green building management system.
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- 10+ years of experience in interior design
- Certification from a Green Building body, such as LEED AP ID+C
- Ability to use CAD software
- Experience with Project Management Software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines and work within a budget
- Candidates with Client-side in-house interior design experience will be preferred.
