BEE Collaborates with Jinke Property Group to Launch the Living Building Concept

Jinke Property Group, Chongqing’s largest real estate developer, launched its new Living Building concept at its press conference in Shanghai 1862 Fashion Art Center last Thursday, raising the bar for the entire property development industry in China. The event attracted more than 400 guests from all over the world, representing various renowned construction and architecture firms and institutions, and media agencies.

Jinke initiated the event with an introduction of its new initiative titled “let beauty flow through the essence of life”. The opening remarks were followed by keynote speeches that explained the Living Building concept’s motive as well as how it will be applied to Jinke’s building sustainability sector. James Connelly, Vice President of Strategic Growth at the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) also introduced the institute’s Living Building Challenge standard and its highlighted complementary role of Jinke’s initiative in Asia’s green building movement.

The Living Building concept aims to provide Jinke’s customers with a better life, by creating a comfortable, healthy, and environmentally friendly living space aided by the use of smart technology. BEE Incorporations is proud to be part of the cross-industry and cross-country collaboration of Jinke’s new Living Building concept R&D process, also joined by ILFI, Aedas, Microsoft, and many other construction, architecture, and technological firms and institutions with global presence.

The Three Bodies of Living Building

Jinke’s new Living Building concept is built upon three main bodies:

  • Wisdom: Develop the wisdom to create humane homes
  • Organism: Promote green and sustainable building development
  • Genes: Pass down these “genes” and knowledge to light the city

Four-in-One Strategy

The Living Building concept is supplemented by Jinke’s new “four-in-one” strategy, signifying a breakthrough of building construction and architectural design conventions in China, which often neglect the following:

  • Affordable property development
  • Technology investment and utilization
  • Lifestyle services, and
  • Cultural tourism

Strategic Development

Jinke believes that modern building construction and architecture should reflect modern day society’s progress and innovation in science, artificial intelligence technology, life sciences, and clean energy. These innovations should be integrated into the property development process not in silo, but using a systematic and holistic approach, from the very beginning of the project. Jinke seeks to accelerate the Living Building concept to meet the following goals:

  • Improve our indoor environmental quality
  • Create healthier buildings, and
  • Develop buildings utilizing more environmentally sustainable and smart technologies.
