We are proud to be working with Starbuck Roastery for LEED certification on their latest creation and their 5th Reserve Roastery globally, that opened on the 28th of Feb 2019, in Tokyo, Japan. Celebrating the Japanese culture of connection and cultivation, the architect Kengo Kuma infused the Japanese concept of ‘Amu’, into the design of the new Roastery. Starbucks has used the ‘Amu’ design concept cleverly ‘to knit’ together the Art, Science and craft of truly inspired coffee.

The new Roastery comes with a wide range of firsts for Japan and the world:

  • Starbucks’s first Specialty Coffee Association certified training location in Japan
  • Starbucks’s first in-house bakery in Japan
  • The first AMU inspired lounge in the world
  • The first menu from Rocco Princi in Japan
  • The first coffee roasted on site in Japan and will be exclusively in Tokyo
  • The first 4 story (55-foot-high) Roastery coffee cask in the world
  • The finally the world’s largest Teavana Bar
