About WELL

WELL is a performance-based system for measuring and certifying features of the built environment that impact human health and well-being. Since its launch in 2014, WELL now covers more than 760 projects in 32 countries.

IWBI announced that the next version of WELL would be released in pilot form at the end of May 2018. The new version combines the users’ feedbacks and latest data related to human health, and improves the areas including global relevance, customization, streamlined efficiency and commitment to verified performance.

More Pathways

The new version will introduce more WELL pathways that are more relevant and reflect local realities.

More Project Types

The new version streamlines some existing pilot programs into one, while being flexible to apply for different project types. Customized scorecards and an updated feature library will also be introduced. As a result, project teams are able to choose the most relevant features while maximize the occupants’ health and wellness.

New Features

The new version will include 10 concepts: Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Fitness, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community. The new version separates Comfort in the current version into thermal comfort, Sound, and added Materials and Community. It has enhanced the approaches of human health and wellness. Additionally, performance verification process has been improved to ensure that the WELL buildings are performing as designed.
