    About the project

Located in the heart of Shanghai’s Pudong Lujiazui financial district, the Standard Chartered Bank Shanghai Headquarters occupies five floors within the prestigious Standard Chartered Tower. Our team supported this beautiful project, designed by Woods Bagot, in achieving both LEED ID+C and WELL certifications. In 2023, this collaboration resulted in dual certification.

    LEED Gold Certification

The Standard Chartered Bank Shanghai project achieved LEED Gold certification for Interior Design and Construction. The design team focused on natural light by optimizing the floor plan design, reducing the need for artificial lighting and improving energy efficiency. Energy-saving HVAC systems and occupancy sensors also reduce the building’s carbon footprint and significantly lower overall energy consumption.

Another priority was water conservation. Significant water savings are achieved through the installation of water-saving fixtures and low-flow faucets. Eco-friendly materials were selected throughout the office, in line with sustainable building practices.

    WELL Gold Certification

The office has also earned WELL Gold certification. Achieving this certification is very much in line with the company’s Future of Work Now vision, which focuses on promoting a work environment that supports productivity and well-being. The office design integrates private work areas, collaboration zones, and social areas to accommodate different work styles and emphasizes a flexible, hybrid model that adapts to the evolving needs of the workforce.

    Key WELL features include

    • Improved indoor air quality
    • Low-emission materials
    • Ergonomic design elements
    • Biophilic elements

Together, these features create a comfortable, natural environment that promotes overall well-being and increases productivity.
