The 2024 LIFE 360 in Stores Awards by LVMH have just concluded, honoring the Group’s retail spaces that have demonstrated exceptional environmental performance. This biannual event, which began in 2016, highlights stores that have made significant strides in sustainability.
We are especially proud to see one of our projects, Parfums Christian Dior K11 in Hong Kong, receive the highest award—Best Store for the Environment, Store of the Year—achieving the top score across all eight categories. Maxime Pruvost, Co-founder of BEE Retail, had the opportunity to share the insights and strategies that have contributed to achieving this remarkable milestone, as well as the challenges we have overcome along the way.

Four new categories
- Sephora France – Shared Well-Being – recognized for its focus on both interior architecture and employee well-being.
- Le Bon Marché – Learning to Impact – rewarded for employee training on environmental issues, measured by the proportion of employees trained and the diversity of training methods.
- CELINE in Wuxi, China – Pop-Ups with Purpose – recognized for incorporating the reuse and recycling of structures and furniture in pop-up activities.
- Louis Vuitton 5 Canton Road, Hong Kong, and Bulgari, Via Monte Napoleone, Milan – Windows in Transparency – recognized for responsible use of Visual Merchandising, a key challenge in eco-design.
New Sustainability Initiatives
LVMH continues to lead in sustainability with ongoing initiatives that define the future of eco-friendly retail and construction.
A key element of LVMH’s sustainability strategy is the “LIFE in Architecture” guide, which has been continuously updated since 2015. This guide sets the benchmark for sustainable building practices and serves as a valuable resource for real estate projects. In addition, LVMH is collaborating with Paris Good Fashion to support the publication of a Best Practices Guide. This guide outlines 12 practical solutions for reducing the ecological footprint of boutiques and is freely available to inspire Parisian retailers to adopt more sustainable practices.
In addition to this, LVMH has entered a strategic partnership with Swire Properties. Covering 50,000 m² of commercial and office spaces across mainland China and Hong Kong, this collaboration focuses on transforming spaces with sustainable design. An “Eco-Design Checklist” will integrate 15 sustainability criteria to ensure environmental goals are met throughout the project. This partnership complements LVMH’s ongoing efforts with other key stakeholders like Hang Lung and the Miami District.
Finally, LVMH is expanding its influence through the “Unity for Change” initiative, launched at COP28 in December 2023, which sets specific sustainability targets for the UAE region. This initiative unites major retail players such as Chalhoub Group, EMAAR, and Majid Al Futtaim. Together, they aim to reduce carbon emissions and align local practices with LVMH’s global environmental vision.
